Emergency Management Plan

Monaghan Township has a responsibility to have an Emergency Operations Plan in place to protect lives and property in the event of a natural or human-caused disaster. Monaghan’s Board of Supervisors approved our plan in June 2022, which includes all activities in the emergency management cycle including prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery phases. Monaghan Township is part of the Northern York Unified Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) along with Carroll and Warrington townships, Franklintown, Dillsburg and Wellsville boroughs. A copy of the plan is available, click on the green box that says Emergency Management Plan.

Being prepared for an emergency isn’t just the responsibility of government officials and first responders, it involves your whole family as well. Resources are available to help you put together a plan and stay in contact with loved ones during an emergency.  Visit the Emergency Preparation Guide under Quick Links for more information.

We are interested in whether you or someone you know in the township has medical needs that might be affected in an emergency situation. Fill out the Special Needs Assistance Form under Quick Links and return it to our office to register individuals who might need special help.
